History of WAVE

The Wellness, Alcohol and Violence Education (WAVE) Program was established in the Fall of 2005, when two former NMSU programs: CHOICES, an alcohol abuse prevention program, and the Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) Program merged. WAVE now has 2 Full-time employees, multiple Peer Educators and academic program interns (including CCP and Public Health students). WAVE’s most recent change occurred when the Campus Health Center and Counseling Center integrated. WAVE is now the health education component for the Aggie Health and Wellness Center.
